There's an art competition (all sorts of art)going on and one of my groups were invited to participate.
Dennis said, oh I'll do a poem, my paintings are not good enough.
And he did and he made us all cry, I think he should win the first price.
My old Chair
I live in sheltered housing
I love my little flat
I haven't got a dog
I haven't got a cat
So when I'm feeling lonely
I sit in my old chair
And think of all the good times
When my dear wife was there
I lie right back
And close my eyes
And roll back all the years
And think of all the happy times
The sadness and the tears
And then at night
I turn on the light
And take the phone off the hook
And settle down in my old chair
With a whisky and a book
And when I'm feeling tired
And the last page I read
I put down my book
Turn out the light
And make my way to bed
Dennis Doyle
Hope you enjoyed it as I did.

I think that's really lovely.
