I went up to the top of St Pauls once when i was about 18 and it was nervewracking cause there is only one way up and one way down,near the top the stairs are made of wrought iron,very narrow and you can see down,i nearly froze as i am terrified of heights but couldn't because people were coming up behind me,never again!

At least the steps are nice and wide. Those really old towers where the steps are in a tight spiral are seriously unnerving even if you're neither claustrophobic nor afraid of heights!
