  • Put a sock in my mouth!

I have a record for saying stupid things.
Sometimes funny, sometimes not so much.

Today I received a phone call from a manager of one of the places I teach.
She said, Maria we'll have to cancel the class tomorrow, very sad news, Ann the scheme manager past away.

I was in shock, Ann was only 56 years old and although she was off sick for the last couple of weeks, nobody knew it was serious.

Anyway, I said Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear that, I'm sure they (my students) are all in shock! very upseting.

And the conversation went a bit dead, because you don't know what to say at times like this.

So, out of my mouth came: Oh well nevermind.

    Yep, no comments.

  • Mother's day Celebration

Mothers day was celebrated in Sweeden yesterday, as I was told by my dear friend miramaze.

And that made me wonder why, as every country I have lived in has a different date.

    Very useful information, I know;D
I also know many people who are kinda of "against" celebration days because it become too comercial.

I don't care,in on way or another these days are a mark in history and should be celebrated.:)

(jez the things one does to avoid work:)))

In the UK Mothering Sunday (Mother's Day) is always the fourth Sunday of Lent.

In Canada and the United States, it is celebrated on the second Sunday in May.

In Portugal is always the first Sunday in May.

In Mexico Mother's Day is a fixed holiday, occurring on May 10th.

Early "Mother's Day" was mostly marked by women's peace groups.
A common early activity was the meeting of groups of mothers whose sons had fought or died on opposite sides of the American Civil War.
In New York City, Julia Ward Howe led a "Mother's Day" anti-war observance in 1872, which was accompanied by a Mother's Day Proclamation.
