If you stay still on the photo it tells you what it is, or what my mind tells me it is.:>>

  • Michael Jackson has died

I am in shock and sad.

Much has been said about the person, but nothing can be said about the artist.

One of the greatest singers , if not the greatest of all times.

Rest in peace Michael Jackson, you are a legend.

  • My day so far...

Today I took the day off and went to Manchester to pick up my babes passport.
Sorry rampie, I know you forgot your camera there, but it was a last minute decision.

I like Manchester, there's much more diversity than in Liverpool, all types of people.

I was stopped by a couple while crossing a busy street.
The guy shouted at me:- Excuse me, what do you think of her glasses?
And I answered after a few seconds of good judgement (in the middle of the street) and said :- They look great!
She said thank you and they dissapeared in the crowd.

I bought a pretty orange top/dress/blouse?? ... really, I have no idea what it is, but it is pretty:>>

Inside the shop, there was this woman all dressed in black, you know the ones you can barely see their eyes... (seriously, I have issues with this), and she wanted to buy something, was asking questions, and I wondered, mmmmm...when/where is she going to wear that?

Did I mention that I was in a kinda of a psychadelic shop.;)

Back in the train,(can't explain why I don't drive to Manchester), the guy sitting in front of me literally stared at me all the way, so I kinda of started pulling funny faces, raising my eybrows, etc, just for my own amusement.

Oh, and when I was getting in the train in Liverpool, the door closed!
Shocking, just on time, so I started knocking at the door and saying HELLO!!..thank you girl who was behind me and pressed the button that says "open".

I also went to the Beatles shop to buy a souvenir to mon's flatmate, who is a big fan of the lads.

    I had my fringe cut.

And I am now going to fill my suitcase to go to BERLIN!!

One more thing, I read a sentence in my book, "The witch of Portobello", that made me think:

    "What does learning mean?
Accumulating knowledge or transforming your life?"

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY HUNCAMUNCA

From the most famous Liverpool boys to Sampa!

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR BRASILIAN FRIEND!

  • The holiday.

Tha was the film I have just watched on the wall.

I mean, I did use my new projector, put the dvd into the laptop, clear all my paintings from the wall, moved the sofa around backsides to the tv and tchanran:>>!!

We had a wide screen, like if we were in the movies!!

We had a great laugh, because my walls are actually not white, neither plain cream,as the wallpaper has a flowerly pattern and most hilarious (or not,if you are a clean freak:))), we just realised the walls are in urgent need of being painted,as we could see the shape of the paintings!

Anyway, after realising I do not have white bed sheets, we did watch the film anyway...I mean...I did! Hubby decided to take a nap,Alex fell asleep on my shoulder and Oli, although very enthusiastic at first with all the movement, and after making various attempts at reaching the image on the wall, also gave up and fell asleep on my lap.

The film is great, I've watched it a few times, but still great.
It always makes me realise why I am unhappy living in England.

    And it's mainly because I am a L.A. person!!
Never been there, but I know I am.

Hope you had a great Sunday, I'm still in my 'jamas and socks, trying to convince myself that life is great, I am lucky and I do not miss a Sunday on the beach.

  • Pouring down.

I have no apparent reason to be cheerful and happy but I am!

I was driving at 20 mph and I couldn't see the road!! But I'm happy!?

Maybe I need to see the doctor...

  • Life and death

On of my students, Fred, died last wednesday.:(
Another one of my students, shall I say.
If my memory is not failing this is the fifth one.

Because he was not well, today I bought a "Get well soon" card, so all the classmates could sign it.

We were thinking of doing it for a few weeks, but today it was too late.

Never leave for tomorrow what you can do today.

I'm sad, he was a man with an attitude and we always had great laughs and discussions.

It is going to happen to all of us, there's no escape.

    R.I.P. dear Fred.

  • Little things...

... that annoy the hell out of me!

I was in Tescos yesterday and there was this baby in the pram, about 4-5 months old, crying with boredoom (yes I can recognise all types of crying;)).

Straight away, mum opened a bootle of Ribena and gave it to him.

    What's wrong with people???

Babies and toddlers under 36 months have special nutritional requirements. Drinks or food that are specially designed and marketed for them have to reflect these requirements and the food regulations which govern these products. Ribena is not specially designed and marketed as a drink for babies and toddlers. The on-pack directions for use therefore include the statement:

This drink is not suitable for babies and toddlers under 36 months.

Aren't new mums told how they should feed their babies??

It honestly makes my blood start boiling and I have to hold my anger and keep telling myself:

"It's none of your business, don't say anything, control yourself, take a deep breath, etc..."

  • Pebbles

Pebbles, best known as Pebs the turtle is growing amanzingly fast, and faster every day!
Just about a month ago I bought her a new "island" so she can bask, because all the rocks we had were too small already.

I payed more than I should for this new magnificent artefact, and now it is TOO SMALL!!! AGAIN!!

What do I do??? Can't get rid of her, you don't do that with family members!! Never!

But I may have to move home soon!88|

Maybe a house with two baths, so she can have one?

See for yourself, I didn't get too close, because if I do she looses balance.:DD

    Peblita

I need both hands to hold her now, she used to be a tiny lil dinosaur:))

  • Lazy lunch

Years ago I was quite shocked when I saw someone eating a crisps sandwich.
I had never heard of it and I honestly thougth it was a stupid idea.

But here I am enjoying this stupid sandwich for the second time this week.

    The recipe:
    Toast two slices of bread
    Spread butter
Smach a pack of crisps and put on one slice
    Crunch it and enjoy.

That is the laziest meal ever!
    But tastes good:))

    *Go to work Maria!!*

  • What?

I just opened the blog main page and it was written in german ( I think, it could be chinese, all the same to me)!!

And I just realised I really, really, can't read one single word in german, so tomorrow I am going to look for a free part-time night time german course :>>

But it's back to english thank God.

Tonight I went to the movies with hubby to watch "Angels and Demons".

You listen to all the reviews and think mmmm, maybe it's not too good, or think mmmm, the first film is always great and the sequels are usually disapointing.

But no, it is a great movie, forget the rating! Well worth and I will watch it again when it comes out in video, because as in Davinci code it's too much interesting information to take at once.

Tomorrow my classroom will be a voting pool, so no class in the morning, damn!:))

  • Put a sock in my mouth!

I have a record for saying stupid things.
Sometimes funny, sometimes not so much.

Today I received a phone call from a manager of one of the places I teach.
She said, Maria we'll have to cancel the class tomorrow, very sad news, Ann the scheme manager past away.

I was in shock, Ann was only 56 years old and although she was off sick for the last couple of weeks, nobody knew it was serious.

Anyway, I said Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear that, I'm sure they (my students) are all in shock! very upseting.

And the conversation went a bit dead, because you don't know what to say at times like this.

So, out of my mouth came: Oh well nevermind.

    Yep, no comments.

  • Mother's day Celebration

Mothers day was celebrated in Sweeden yesterday, as I was told by my dear friend miramaze.

And that made me wonder why, as every country I have lived in has a different date.

    Very useful information, I know;D
I also know many people who are kinda of "against" celebration days because it become too comercial.

I don't care,in on way or another these days are a mark in history and should be celebrated.:)

(jez the things one does to avoid work:)))

In the UK Mothering Sunday (Mother's Day) is always the fourth Sunday of Lent.

In Canada and the United States, it is celebrated on the second Sunday in May.

In Portugal is always the first Sunday in May.

In Mexico Mother's Day is a fixed holiday, occurring on May 10th.

Early "Mother's Day" was mostly marked by women's peace groups.
A common early activity was the meeting of groups of mothers whose sons had fought or died on opposite sides of the American Civil War.
In New York City, Julia Ward Howe led a "Mother's Day" anti-war observance in 1872, which was accompanied by a Mother's Day Proclamation.
