  • Multifaceted

    That's what I am.

Years ago I wrote a poem about my life listing all the jobs I've performed along the way.
Since then a few more came along.

I love writing poetry, but can't do in english, I mean I haven't tried yet and I just can't "feel" it.

Coming from a family of writers, one of them being like the portuguese Shakespeare, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Camilo_Castelo_Branco,writing was just a natural gift since I was 5 years old.
    Yes, 5 years old!

Anyway, back to the plan, I decided to make a list of all the jobs I've done. If I can remember them all.

    1. Childminder
    2. Tupperware agent
    3. Avon rep
    4. Seller of a lot of stuff for the house:>>
    5. Door-to-door books seller
    6. Cork maker:??:
    7. Nursery nurse
    8. Private tutor
    9. Sewing machinist
    10. Restaurant owner/Manager
    11. Cafe owner/Manager
    12. Office Manager
    13. Amazonia Crystals Shop owner/Manager
    14. Cook
    15. Artist/painter
    16. Decorative walls painter
    17. Esol teacher
    18. "Computers" teacher
    19. Art teacher

Now, after writing all this,I think I may have done a list before but whatever:crazy:

I'm sure there is something missing...

    Anyway I am multifaceted:>> and a bit tired of being a teacher...shhhhhhhh.

I almost never look into statistics.
I don't like the word in general that's it.:)
But as I noticed something was not well around here, I clicked on statistics.

    And I'm laughing:))

  • All is good when you are in good company!

Yesterday I made our portuguese salted cod with cream to two blogfriends(row and rampie).
I think they really liked it.:>>

I also made a special caramel egg pudding for dessert, and I say special because my oven decided to breakdown, so I had to do it in the microwave oven and it did overcook, BUT it was eatable.

Don't you love it when you have guests, are planning a meal supposed to go in the oven, and it just breaks?

But all was fine in the end and what really matters is that we were in good company.

Later on another blogfriend (juzzzy) joined us in town and we went to Nandos for more portuguese food!:))

I mean, what's better then visiting England and eating portuguese all day?
    Totally appropriate, right?

But I can honestly say, from the bottom of my heart, I really had a good time and these people are great!

Oh,and I have to say this,I used Alex's bus pass,it was her idea. She said, mum I pay almost £70 for this,we better use it the most we can.:>

Right, Mon and Rampie are walking around town, so I better prepare another portuguese dish for later on!:DD

  • Why do people misunderstand me?

I quite often notice people don't get what I mean.

It makes sense if we think about it,I mean learning a new language after you had it all, isn't as easier as.

This last sentence, for example,I think it's incorrect, but it makes total sense to me.;D

This morning someone in blogland felt insulted by a comment I wrote.
Maybe it was my english way of expressing myself,I don't know.

I usually recognise my mistakes, but as this is my hobby/relaxing time,I couldn't be bothered correcting any.

It's quite funny/embarrassing to read old stuff sometimes.

And maybe some people think I'm a snob, or vain or something, but believe me I'm not!

    Last meme I wrote:

    26. Can you fix your own car?
Of course I can, I have a pretty face.

What would you get from that? That I'm a snob!

    What I actually meant was:
Of course I can repair my car.If it breaks,I ask for help, problem solved. It happened before and it works;)

In another news,we run out of funding for art classes,AGAIN,so from next week I'll be teaching Key Skills!:))

Am I the only one finding this hilarious?

Right, I am doing a bit of house cleaning, as you can see,B) soooooo........see you later :)

  • Confessions and eye test.

    1. I'm having an eye test today.
    Nothing new or unusual,I know.

But I was lucky enough to have great eyesight all my life and to me this means I am starting the process of ageeing.
And I'm extremely childish to accept that!

    2. When my first child was about 11,she mentioned she couldn't see things in the distance and I didn't take her seriously.
I remember one day,we where ona 7th floor varanda apartement and she asked what was written on a huge panel on the other side of the road.
And I thought she was messing.
I remember telling her to stop messing with serious things,I thought she was in a phase she wanted to buy fancy glasses.

Fact is,nobody in our family ever needed glasses,so I knew nothing about it.
It wasn't til she was about 14,that she had an eye test and I found out in shock horror that she needed glasses.
    I still feel terribly guilty.

    3. My second child is also shortsighted.

    4. Believe or not, call me ignorant or whatever, but I strongly believe that it is the use of computers that damages children eyesight.

    5. I used to get annoyed at my mother when she asked me to thread a needle.
She was about my age now, when she started asking me.

    6. The positive of it is I can't see my wrinkles, so maybe I should just leave it.

    7. On the other hand, the other day a student asked me for feedback on a painting, and I told her to get ride of the white spot on the green field, and she looked at me and said:
    - Maria! That's a sheep.

    8. Also, when I'm texting,I just guess what I'm writing because I know where the letters are.

    9. I feel sorry for blind people, because althought we need all our 6 senses, I think seeing is the most precious of all.

    10. Gonna get ready and plug my eyebrows, althought I can't see any hairs,I can feel them.;)

I always said I can't sing, but I had to do it.... for you:)
After inumerous unsuccessful atempts with karaokes, this was all I could do. And I can't stop laughing, I can tell ya;)

Happy Birthday and please don't hate me after this.

  • I feel like shit.

  • Lovely meal...terrible hangover

Yesterday it was our anniversary.27 Years! Yes,I married just a few days after I was born.;)

I received a beautiful bunch of red roses and was invited for dinner in a great restaurant. Alma de Cuba. http://www.alma-de-cuba.com/

I can honestly say that this was the best meal I have had in England.
Totally recommend! And the dessert, OH MY GOD!

And also the best wine! The only problem was that I had too much.

I was so drunk that I can't remember how we got home. And after the meal we went to the casino!! Bad,bad think to do,I know you should never gamble under the effect of alchool.

Luckily enough and I have no idea how,I managed to get £35 profit from the roulette and hubby got about £70.
I don't even remember putting money anywhere!

And today I've been feeling like a zombie all day.I'm such a bad drinker!
But it was a good night, from what I can remember :))

  • Thanks Row

    For the meal :)
I own you one now but I'm guessing I'll pay it back very soon ;)
The burritos were yummy, and my trousers also love them:))
Me and Alex pissed ourselves laughing when you left because I was covered in stains... and so was she! Damn jumpy beans!

Oh dear and we only had Fanta! :))

We went shopping around Piccadilly after the meal but I didn't buy anything for me, guess why?;)

My lovely daughter never agrees with my choices,so if I want to buy clothes, I have to do it alone.

But we were really tired in the end and she fell asleep on my shoulder on the way back home, how sweet.:)

See you soon and fingers crossed for tomorrow;)
