Stupidity

by Miza-T @ 2007-06-29 - 13:23:59

I love quotes.
They are short ways of saying a lot.
And I like shortways.

Today I came across this quote, that it says it all:

"Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe."

Albert Einstein

Please don't feel offended, I'm also human:P

Marion Cotillard

by Miza-T @ 2007-06-28 - 01:01:39

Went to the pictures with Mon tonight, to watch "La vie en rose".
It is a fantastic film, telling the controversial lifestory of Edith Piaf, obviously.
But what impressed me was the absolutely superb act of Marion Cotillard. It is almost obscene if this talented actress doesn't win all the possible awards for best actress this year.
Brilliant transformation, terrific acting, particularly when she played the older Piaf. Her pain, her loss came through exquisitely

It's a shame this film is not getting the attention of the media, as it should. Because it's French, not American....sad...

And for me the highlight was toward the end when Piaf sings NON,JE NE REGRETTE RIEN (NO REGRETS). The song written for Piaf is a summation of the film and her life. I actually had tears on my face.

Highly recommend!

Dilemma

by Miza-T @ 2007-06-05 - 00:10:56

Right, so, let's see, mmm, U-(
My contract finishes end of June. There are about 100 lecturers that are going to be unemployed in Merseyside, as far as I know. The chances of getting a teaching job, aren't too good, at least for now.:-/

I can try and apply for any other job, at the end of the day, I may get a job in a call centre and become just on more of these people you phone for help and you don't understand s*** of what they say
(okay, that was extremely rude considering I'm a foreign, but I'm not deleting it, I feel the need to be a bad girl, right now):>

Or, on the other side, I can start giving private tuition (in groups). Actually this was not my idea, my students were sooo upset that there will be no more art classes provided by the college, that they want to "hire" me.

I have at least 35 students that are very keen to pay me to continue teaching them Art. And they would be triled to paint for pleasure , with no portfolios (accreditation) attached.

I'm sure this number will raise quickly as I didn't have this conversation with half of them yet.

I could dedicate more time to painting, I could try and organise exhibitions.

Now the dilemma:

What do I want?
Would I get enough money to pay the bills?
Do I want all the "harassment" of being self employed?
Or do I want a 9 to 5 job, that I will not bring home?

I can't believe I'm so confused, I can smell something burning...
my brains!!8|

What would you do?
