My lack of concentration is appalling. I almost hit a police barrier the other day
I had one last night, standing up in the bath, puffing out the window, like a teenager. How embarrassing is that!!
Oh, I didn't buy it, I stolen it from Lu's bag. He was possessed this morning as he found out
But I'm doing fine, I'm proud of myself, and I'm actually starting to believe I can do it!
Bought some NTB peppermint ciggies look alike, to help the detoxification cure.

Still pretending to be strong. Didn't smoke today.
But as it is my birthday, I really thought I deserved a treat!
Okay, a ciggie it's not a treat *trying to convince myself*.

Day 1 - Yesterday, I had two ciggies, hiding from everybody. Went out to buy dinner, I didn't have to, and smoked one.Then, I've picked Alex up and had another one on the way. The patch is fine,thanks. I'm not

Day 2 - I'm still in my pyjamas, I'm dizzy, and can't think of anything else. A massive pile of work is staring at me, but I can't concentrate. I bought patches for Lu as well, and he's using it today, for the first time.

No comments...but the comments on this post made my day.

Once upon a time...
I used to work as an artist...painting, exhibiting, giving private tuition...
I don't feel strong enough to do it again, but I guess I'll have to find strength somewhere...

How do I start...
This morning I was told my classes will not be running next year. Funding issues, you see...I teach adults mainly, and the government is cutting down on adult education. Focus now is 16 - 19 year old. I only have one class at this age, which I was covering because a colleague had cancer (he's back, thank God).
To make a long story short, I will be unemployed in less than two months.
Great,after 5 years giving my best...I'm still in shock and don't know what to think or say ......
So I decided to make myself a special cocktail, a recipe I learned with my brasilian friends, and that brings me good memories.
If you want to give it a go, believe me, you will not regret it

"Batidinha"

1 cup of vodka ( or cachaca if you find it )
2 cups of fruit pulp ( I like passion fruit, but it's possible with pineapple or strawberries)
2 cups of crushed ice
1 can of condensed milk

Shake it very very well ( I use the blender)

I'm already on half of the bootle ( I put it inside a 2 litres empty plastic bootle)

Oh, by the way if any of you know of a god job, please tell me something.

Friday morning:

1. Arrive in college and Steve (the head of school) says loud so all staff is aware:
Steve- Maria, would you please make sure that students don't leave the room untidy, as it was messy last friday.
Me- I tried my best
2. Steve-I know this particular group isn't easy, but you can't let them leave the room that way. Oh and don't leave the computer switched on.
Me- I never used the computer upstairs!

I'm quite responsible and I did spend 10 minutes tidying and I never touched that computer, so I was fuming ...and then

3. We were supposed to be doing life drawing, but the model doesn't show up. Time for plan B. Small detail, I don't have a plane B.
While I'm thinking of plan B, Steve enters the room with the senior tutor and informs the group that we will be having a case conference.

And so they go, and tell students off. Two written warnings, and one hour of pure tension.We are talking attendance, ponctuality, achievement. What I can see is not concern with students themselves but concern about college's image.
The senior tutor wants us to be aware that she is a psychologist, I honestly think she needs a psychologist.She was so harsh, I felt sorry for "some" students.

And I'm fuming again, why wasn't I told about this before!!!! Aren't we supposed to work as a team?

4. Students are distressed, I'm distressed, they want to leave earlier because they have a key skills presentation, I'm pissed off, so I say: Guys, if you leave the room sparkling, you can leave 15 minutes earlier.

5. Steve comes to the room again, students weren't there!
I'm told off again, because I'm not supposed to let them leave ealier.

I have been teaching in this college for 5 years, and this is the first time that something like this happen. I'm not used to it, and I didn't like it.

Today is Sunday and I'm not enjoying it.Not amused.
